Under clear, sunny skies, the traditional parade of fire and emergency vehicles took place at noon on Saturday, August 12, as part of the 41st Pincourt Firefighters' Day. Young and old alike lined the route to make sure they didn't miss out on this popular annual event.

Soap box race: registration underway for ages 7 to 12

The 13th edition of the Vaudreuil-Dorion Optimist Club's soapbox race will be held on Saturday, September 9. Registration is underway for intrepid youngsters aged 7 to 12 interested in this fun activity. 

A second novel in four months for author Érik Leduc

On May 3, Vaudreuil-Dorion resident Érik Leduc announced the release of his first career novel, Entre le lys et le lion. Almost four months later, on August 30, he will publish the sequel to the adventures of Akian, the young Abenaki he imagined in the days of New France in 1689. 

8th annual Bryan Liew Race set for September 10 in St-Lazare

It's time to register for the 8th annual Bryan Liew Race, a highlight of the local running calendar. Once again, the event will be held on the second Sunday of September, starting and finishing from the Westwood Park.

Expansion work at the Vaudreuil-Dorion ecocenter

The Réseau des écocentres de la MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges will begin expansion work at its Vaudreuil-Dorion ecocenter on Monday, August 14.

Collision at Cité-des-Jeunes/Montée Labossière intersection, Saint-Lazare

Two vehicles were involved in a collision earlier this afternoon near 251 chemin de la Cité-des-Jeunes, in Saint-Lazare. The accident took place near the intersection of Montée Labossière, a key intersection in the area.

Vaudreuil-Dorion council approved the purchase of the Cité des-Jeunes arena for $3.15 million almost two months after the city announced plans to buy the facility. 

Four upcoming blood drives in Vaudreuil-Soulanges

Over the next few days, four blood drives will be held in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC. They will take place in Saint-Clet, Terrasse-Vaudreuil, Vaudreuil-Dorion and Saint-Lazare, and interested donors can already book their appointments.

On Saturday August 12, swimmers from the Club aquatique de la Ville de L'Île-Perrot took part in the Section A final, live from the Westmount pool. A total of 43 CAVIP members put on their swimsuits for the competition. 

Arena accord gives Île Perrot municipalities time build sports centre

The agreement between Vaudreuil-Dorion and three Île-Perrot municipalities that allows them to use the Cité des Jeunes arena for five years will also give them the time to move forward with plans to build their own sports complex on the island, said Notre Dame de l'île-Perrot (NDIP) Mayor Danie Deschênes.

A record number of participants in 2023 at the Tri-O-Lacs 

The 2023 edition of the Tri-O-Lacs was held this Saturday, August 6, at Parc Paul-Stevens in Coteau-du-Lac. This year, the organizing committee recorded a record number of participants: 135 athletes, including 39 under-18s, donned their sportswear to take part. 

Free lifesaving courses this fall in Vaudreuil-Dorion

The City of Vaudreuil-Dorion will be offering free lifesaving courses this fall. This is made possible by financial assistance from the Ministère de l'Éducation du Québec as part of its Plan d'action pour valoriser la pratique d'activités physiques, sportives et récréatives au Québec 2022-2027.
