Next step is a soil survey
Rue Lippé: the measures put in place are adequate
In the most recent edition of its municipal newsletter Le Rassembleur, the Municipalité des Coteaux, via the Mot du maire, provided an update on the Rue Lippé issue.
A portion of this street collapsed earlier this summer. Here's what Mayor Sylvain Brazeau had to say:
To return to the subject of rue Lippé, which subsided on July 15, leaving a residence isolated in the municipality, the situation is currently stable. We have received confirmation from the Ministère de la Sécurité civile and the Ministère des Transports du Québec that the measures put in place to ensure safety are adequate.
We will need to engage professional services to carry out soil surveys that will guide us in the removal of contaminated materials and stabilization of the embankment.
The next step will be to rebuild the section or relocate the road. I would like to take this opportunity to reiterate that it is not possible to take rue Lippé to get to Saint-Polycarpe.
For safety reasons, road users (car, bike and pedestrian) must use Delisle Street.
