A sizzling line-up of performers will take to the stage at Parc des Générations on Boulevard Perrot in L'Île-Perrot for the VIP en Blues festival on Saturday, September 16.

"It's going to be a great one," L'Île-Perrot Mayor Pierre Séguin told Néomédia after a press conference yesterday to announce the event which is touted as the largest on Île Perrot.

"It's a free event and what's nice is we're doing something for the kids too. We did something last year, and wow, it was a great success. It starts at three p.m. and all the real Blues specialists will be there," said Séguin.

The gourmet street with food and beverages sold on site will open at the same time with 12 local restaurateurs ready to prepare decadent dishes from the four corners of the world.

Colorful artists will be strolling through the park too so get ready to meet some famous and funny characters!

Musical performances

Violon Dingue Family Show | 4 p.m. The solo artist plays the violin like no one else. With humour and gusto, he revisits songs of today and yesteryear, from near and far, in a whirlwind of animation and interaction. Fun for young and old alike.

The March Blues Project | 5 p.m. This local band with over 20 years experience will set the tone for the evening. They will play the greatest blues-rock hits by B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Gary Moore, Buddy Holly, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Albert King, Buddy Guy, Robben Ford and other greats. Some original tracks from the quartet's debut album are also on the program.

Mike Deway | 6 p.m. With a guitar on his shoulder and other instruments, Mike Deway will present his musical universe inspired by John Mayall, BB King, Freddy King and groups such as Bad Company, Santana and The Rolling Stones.

Justin Saladino Band | 7 p.m. Justin Saladino Band is all about the guitar. You'll travel through a sonic palette that includes colours of rock, blues, folk, funk and jam, linking genres and influences to create the sound with contemporary roots that characterize the band.

Hommage to Stevie Ray Vaughn | 8:15 p.m. Revisit the classics of a blues icon with this talented band. Tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan brilliantly tackles the greatest hits of the seventh greatest guitarist of all time.

Dawn Tyler Watson | 9:30 p.m. None other than the talented Dawn Tyler Watson will close the 2023 edition of VIP en Blues. The award-winning Montreal singer-songwriter has earned her place among the international blues elite. Her spirited stage presence and stirring performances have earned her national and international recognition.
