With the Route des Arts de Vaudreuil-Soulanges
A new winning partnership for the Musée régional de Vaudreuil-Soulanges
The Musée régional de Vaudreuil-Soulanges is proud to unveil its brand-new partnership with the Route des Arts de Vaudreuil-Soulanges.
This year, the museum decided to get involved by presenting a group exhibition in its multi-purpose hall, reflecting the talent of the artists and craftspeople taking part in this tour of the region's studios.
Collective exhibition
The exhibition at the Musée will run from August 26 to September 17. The room is not accessible at all times. It's best to call ahead, as there may be meetings or other events taking place during the week.
A volunteer will be on hand to welcome the public from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, August 26 and 27, and September 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 and 17. The vernissage will take place on Thursday, August 24, from 5 to 7 p.m.
What is the Route des Arts?
The Route des Arts de Vaudreuil-Soulanges, held on September 16 and 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., is a cultural discovery trail offering the public the opportunity to visit 25 artisans' and artists' studios in 8 municipalities in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region. These encounters establish privileged contact by encouraging communication and exchange between artists and visitors on the very sites of their creation. This itinerary allows visitors to discover how different art forms are practiced, including painting, sculpture, photography, jewelry, stained glass and much more.
A natural pairing
Curator Chantal Séguin is delighted by the twinning of these two non-profit organizations with complementary missions. "I'm delighted to welcome artists participating in the Route des Arts de Vaudreuil-Soulanges. It's important for the Museum to be part of this circuit, as it is a showcase for regional talent. What's more, we note that we haven't yet had the chance to present many of these artists at the Musée. Our projects sometimes bring together close to a hundred artists, and we're always pleasantly surprised to discover others," she adds.
The 25 artists will each be exhibiting a work that reflects their style, allowing visitors to choose which workshops to visit during the Route des Arts weekend.
Through an audioguide and written texts, the public will have access to information on their career paths, their inspirations and the works they present. Visitors will also be able to discover other exhibitions and activities taking place at the Museum, which is located at 431, avenue Saint-Charles, in Vaudreu il-Dorion.
