Another busy week draws to a close. Here's what's been happening in Vaudreuil-Soulanges over the past few days.

Spaghetti dinner on April 7 at the Saint-Lazare Community Centre

On Sunday, April 7, a spaghetti dinner will be held to raise funds for the Save Our Church campaign in Saint-Lazare and Saint-Joseph. The event will take place at the Centre Communautaire de Saint-Lazare, 1301 rue du Bois, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a liquor permit. 

Lucien-L'Allier station closed as of today

Exo is reminding commuters that as of this Monday, April 1, the Lucien-L'Allier station will close for major renovations until the fall of 2024. Consequently, commuters on the Vaudreuil/Hudson line will have to disembark at Vendôme station. They can then transfer to the Vendôme metro station to continue their journey.

Alter ego, Andie Therio, Phil Lauzon and Lendemain de Veille will be at the Festival Régional de la grillade

Sûreté du Québec police officers demonstrate in Vaudreuil-Dorion

Police officers from the Sûreté du Québec (there are almost 6,000 in Quebec) organized a day of demands today, due to the fact that they have been without a work contract since March 2022. Several police officers were demonstrating in Vaudreuil-Dorion, just west of the Taschereau bridge, on their lunch hour today, calling on the government to act.

3,000 grant to Parrainage civique de Vaudreuil-Soulanges

Marilyne Picard, Member of the National Assembly for Soulanges, today confirmed, on behalf of Mathieu Lacombe, Minister of Culture and Communications, Minister responsible for Youth and Minister responsible for the Outaouais region, the awarding of $2906 for the À la découverte de ma communauté project in Soulanges, as part of the Call for Culture and Inclusion 2023-2024 projects.

Défi OSEentreprendre unveils local winners

The Défi OSEntreprendre from MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges has announced its local winners: inspiring entrepreneurs who have distinguished themselves through the quality of their projects, their creativity and their values. Bursaries totalling $1,000 were awarded to Kréma et Co, Camoli Distribution, Miévo and Miel au Carré.

$46 500 for four Soulanges municipalities

Sonia Bélanger, Minister responsible for Seniors and Minister responsible for Health, and Marilyne Picard, MNA for Soulanges, have announced $46,500 in funding for the municipalities of Coteau-du-Lac, Les Cèdres, Les Coteaux and Pointe-Fortune.

Pointe-des-Cascades raises permit fees

The cost of obtaining a building permit for a single-family residence in Pointe-des-Cascades has risen from $300.00 to $1,000.00, including a $500.00 deposit refundable upon receipt of the certificate of location, following the adoption of by-law 124-07 at the last municipal council meeting.

The Community Fridge is launched in Les Coteaux

The Municipality of Les Coteaux is delighted to announce the launch of the Community Fridge at the Town Hall (65, route 338, Les Coteaux) on Monday, April 8, in collaboration with Les Garde-mangers Partagés de Vaudreuil-Soulanges. This initiative aims to improve the food supply for Vaudreuil-Soulanges residents while reducing food waste.
