Jiana donates profits from her books to the Alzheimer Society
Vaudreuil-Dorion lecturer and writer Jiana Saad is offering the public the chance to buy her books on Amazon between now and February 28, 2024. All profits will be donated to the Alzheimer Suroît Society, as her mother suffers from this degenerative disease. The titles of the books published in 2020 and 2022 are Je suis Rima, analphabète, et j'écris mon livre (the story of her mother) and BAM, une ode à la connaissance de soi (Bouge, Aime, Mange).

On Friday December 1, the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable informed Vaudreuil-Soulanges residents of a change in configuration on the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge. In place for the winter season, it now allows only one lane per direction, at all times. It's a measure that's provoked discontent among many motorists.

As of January 1, 2024, owners of vehicles registered within the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal (CMM) will be subject to a new registration tax. Imposed since 2011 on Montreal motorists, this tax will now apply to all cities making up the CMM.
Île-aux-Tourtes bridge: difficult to ban trucking
According to the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable (MTMD), a ban on trucking on the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge could be considered in the event of force majeure, but its application would be difficult. At present, only non-standard vehicles are allowed on the bridge.
