An athlete from Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot joins the Halifax Mooseheads
Born in Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot, goaltender Thomas Fontaine joins the Hallifax Mooseheads as an affiliate player.
Fontaine is in his first season with the Yarmouth Mariners after two seasons with the Cégep de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue Gaillards in the Quebec Collegiate Hockey League.
He was named Maritimes Hockey League Goaltender of the Month for October, and ranks third in the league with a .925 save percentage and fifth with a 2.84 goals-against average.
According to the Hallifax Mooseheads' official website, Fontaine, who stands 6 feet 1 inch tall and 181 pounds, was a 12th-round pick of the Gatineau Olympiques in 2021. He recently represented the MHL at the Eastern Canada Cup All-Star Challenge in Trenton, Ontario, featuring top Junior A prospects from across Canada.
