Another busy week draws to a close. Here's what's been happening in Vaudreuil-Soulanges over the past few days.

Five upcoming blood drives in Vaudreuil-Soulanges

Héma-Québec will be visiting the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region a few times over the next two weeks to hold blood drives. Those interested in taking part can already make an appointment to donate.

A Grand Bazaar to benefit the Church of Saint-Lazare

Paroisse Saint-Joseph-de-Soulanges, encompassing the churches of Saint-Lazare and Les Cèdres, will be holding a Grand Bazar on Sunday, May 5, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Saint-Lazare Community Center.

Saint-Lazare returns with its ecological landscaping contest

The Comité consultatif sur l'environnement (CCE) and Ville de Saint-Lazare invite you to take part in the second edition of the "Pollinator's Garden" ecological landscaping contest.

Murder in Vaudreuil-Dorion: Fabio Puglisi deemed fit to stand trial

Fabio Puglisi, the 44-year-old man accused of double murder and attempted murder in Vaudreuil-Dorion, has been found fit to stand trial. At least, that's what Judge Bertrand St-Arnaud decided on Tuesday April 23 at the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield courthouse. 

Further closure of Île-aux-Tourtes bridge announced

The ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable wishes to inform road users that the Montreal-bound lane of the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge will be closed to traffic from 11 p.m. on Friday, April 26, to 5 a.m. on Sunday, April 28.

Superior Court rules in favor of councillor Charles Meunier

In a long-awaited decision, the Superior Court has ruled in favor of Rigaud municipal councillor Charles Meunier, confirming his legitimacy as an elected representative. The Court thus invalidates the arguments of the Ville de Rigaud and its mayor, Marie-Claude Frigault, which would have had the effect of preventing the councillor from sitting and possibly running in the next election.

Suspended sentence and two years' probation for perpetrator of common assault

Danny Lauzon, was given a suspended sentence, along with two years' probation, by Judge Bertrand St-Arnaud, this Tuesday, April 23, at the Valleyfield courthouse in connection with a simple assault committed in Les Coteaux in November 2021. 

Le Terrasse Café launches Rendez-vous evenings

La Grande Tablée de Terrasse-Vaudreuil announces the start of the 2024 season for Terrasse Café as of June 13, an open-air space on the waterfront in Terrasse-Vaudreuil, offering a unique culinary experience and a rich program of events and activities for all ages.

2020 to 2024: 25% increase in the number of visits to the Suroît emergency department

Although cases of COVID 19 have dropped considerably, the situation in Quebec's emergency departments is far from improving. The emergency department at Hôpital du Suroît in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield is far from being an exception. In fact, La Presse gave the regional hospital a D grade in its ranking of Quebec's emergency rooms.

Vaudreuil-Dorion quartet releases debut album

On April 8, Vaudreuil-Dorion band Les Chiens Dogs, made up of Antoine Claude, Julien Claude, Olivier Sardi and Clémen Taillefer, launched their first career album. Earlier this Thursday, April 25, Néomédia caught up with two of the quartet's members to discuss this new opus, which features 10 original songs.  

Addition of 300 parking spaces near the Vaudreuil-Dorion train station

The Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable would like to inform the public that the mitigation measures for the major obstructions to the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge have been improved, with the forthcoming addition of over 300 temporary parking spaces near the bus terminus and Vaudreuil station.
