Management of the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge: is collective action possible?
Exasperated by the management blunders surrounding the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge, several citizens have taken to social networks to raise the idea of filing a legal action against Quebec. Not a bad idea, according to a lawyer consulted by Néomédia.
February: 5th edition of the Black History Month celebrated by APOAC
To mark Black History Month and its 2024 edition under the theme Une communauté, une municipalité, une région, the Association des personnes d'origine africaine et caribéenne de Vaudreuil-Soulanges et de Beauharnois-Salaberry (APOAC) invites the public to take part in the various activities taking place from February 4 to March 2.
Launch of environmental studies at Carillon generating station
At the start of 2024, Hydro-Québec announces the launch of preliminary studies for the rehabilitation of the spillway at the Carillon hydroelectric generating station, located on the Ottawa River between the municipalities of Pointe-Fortune and Saint-André-d'Argenteuil. The major project will officially begin in 2028.
Catch-up plan: impossible to put a figure on the number of volunteer teachers
While the implementation of remedial measures in the region's primary and secondary schools is set to begin in the next few days, the Centre de services scolaires des Trois-Lacs (CSSTL) is still unable to quantify the number of teachers who have volunteered.

"Initially, our goal was to raise $1,000. We already had $400 on the table and were almost halfway there. We ended up with $4,600," explains Aurèle Leroux, one of the members of this group of 1964 alumni of Cégep de Valleyfield, when the institution was known as Séminaire de Valleyfield from 1925 to 1967.

After two weekends of competition, the 7th edition of the Winter Classic is officially over in Saint-Zotique. A total of 43 teams competed for top honors on the refrigerated rink.The Classique Hivernale is outdoor field hockey where young and old can relive the field hockey of yesteryear. The refrigerated rink helps to promote sport and physical fitness for all generations.

Possession of stolen goods, flight, dangerous driving, possession of burglary tools and breach of probation: these are the charges that could be laid against a 20-year-old man intercepted early this evening at the wheel of a stolen SUV. The police intervention occurred around midnight 30 on Wednesday, January 31, on Highway 20 in Vaudreuil-Dorion.
