The driver was traveling eastbound on this highway, near Rivière-Beaudette, when Sûreté du Québec officers from the Vaudreuil-Soulanges station attempted to intercept him. However, the driver refused to stop, prompting the officers to use a nail mat.
This tactic resulted in the young man coming to a halt eastbound at kilometer 30 in Vaudreuil-Dorion, according to SQ spokeswoman Ève Brochu-Joubert. The police then proceeded to arrest him. The investigation revealed that the SUV had been reported stolen in Ontario in recent days.
