Three new council members for Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac

Three new municipal councillors were elected by acclamation in Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac.
Following the resignations of Councillors David Yee, Mei Lin Yee and Liliane Besner, a by-election had to be held to fill the vacant seats.
The wave of departures had forced the Commission municipale du Québec (CMQ) to take over the administration of the Municipality due to the lack of quorum.
However, by the September 1st deadline for applications, three candidates had indicated their interest. As a result, Najah Zaoude (position 1), Jean Barrette (position 2) and Ian Dellner (position 3) were all elected by acclamation.
Their swearing-in is scheduled for this Wednesday when regular council meetings resume. Since there will now be a quorum, the CMQ authorizes the Municipality to resume the reins of its administration.
