The Artistic Director of the Orchestre symphonique des jeunes de Vaudreuil-Soulanges, Judy Hung, is calling on young musicians in the region who are looking for a new challenge and would like to join the ranks of the musical ensemble. With the 2024-2025 season just around the corner, recruitment is underway.

Once again this year, the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion is making radon detectors available to interested residents. This device measures the concentration of this colorless, odorless gas in a home. They are available at a modest cost of $5.

A citizen of Les Cèdres pleaded guilty this Tuesday, September 3, to a charge of driving while impaired by alcohol before Judge Marie-Chantal Doucet at the Valleyfield courthouse. Mathieu Leduc received a 75-day prison sentence, to be served intermittently starting Sunday, September 15.
Kayaking from Montreal to Quebec City for a good cause
From August 22 to 25, a Saint-Zotique resident took part in the 10th edition of the Desgagnés Kayak Challenge to benefit the students of the Jeunes musiciens du monde organization. In a judgment pronounced on August 14 by the Commission municipale du Québec (CMQ) and submitted to the municipal council of the Municipality of Pointe-des-Cascades on Tuesday, September 3, Judge Thierry Usclat imposed the suspension of District 3 Councillor Benoit Durand.
Fabio Puglisi: the defense wants to rule on his criminal responsibility
The case of Fabio Puglisi, the 44-year-old man charged with second-degree murder, attempted murder with assault with a weapon and aggravated assault in Vaudreuil-Dorion last February, was back in court on Thursday, September 5. Not surprisingly, his lawyer, Alexandre Dubé, asked Quebec Court Judge Claude Provost to issue an order establishing, or not, his client's criminal responsibility at the time of the events.
Assault in Rigaud: Suspect Wanted
Investigators from the Sûreté du Québec's Vaudreuil-Soulange Investigations Division are asking for the public's assistance in the Rigaud area to help identify the suspect in an assault causing bodily harm that occurred on the night of August 13, 2024, in a licensed establishment on boulevard Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Rigaud.

During the session, it was revealed that a 280-door housing project could be built there in the near future.
Les Cèdres to adopt moratorium to halt residential construction
On Wednesday, September 4, the Municipality of Les Cèdres held a public consultation in the Salle des délibérations of the Town Hall, to present draft by-law number 517-2024 on the management of water and sewer supply and treatment. Specifically, this by-law will impose a moratorium prohibiting the construction of residential projects on municipal territory for a period of two years.
