The first candidate is a young man in his thirties, Olivier Prégent, whose main objective is to maintain a young, dynamic voice in the town's decision-making body.
"Young people are often under-represented in municipal politics. I believe it's crucial to offer a voice to all generations in the district, by addressing the issues that affect us all and encouraging citizen participation in democratic life" he explained when announcing his candidacy.
For her part, Lise Gauthier wants to get involved in her community because she is concerned with meeting people's needs. She wants to learn from the municipal environment to serve her fellow citizens to the best of her knowledge.
A native of Île-Perrot, she has lived here all her life."We're a beautiful community and I want to preserve our quality of life," she says. On a day-to-day basis, she has been working with customers of a dairy production expertise center for over 30 years, so she has learned to be a good listener.
