To support the construction of the new house
Burnbrae Farms Foundation donates $100,000 to Maison de la Famille
The Burnbrae Farms Foundation has pledged $100,000 over five years to the Maison de la Famille de Vaudreuil-Soulanges (MFVS) as part of its social fundraising campaign to raise the funds needed to build a new home in Saint-Zotique.
The announcement was made at the launch of the socio-financing campaign, held this Monday at the Maison de la Famille de Vaudreuil-Dorion.
"Following a survey of employees at the Saint-Zotique plant, we decided to support MFVS. When I was asked to go round the employees, I was really surprised. Everyone knew about the Maison de la Famille. Many of our employees had already used MF services or knew someone who had. All the comments I received were extremely positive and in line with the values of the company and the Burnbrae Farms Foundation," explained François Lafond, Plant Manager at Burnbrae Farms in Saint-Zotique.
While Burnbrae Farms' contribution was initially intended to be the purchase of a table for the lobster benefit dinner, it soon turned into a substantial donation of $100,000 over five years.
"Claude DeBellefeuille approached me and asked if we'd be interested in buying a table for the dinner. She then asked me if a donation of $25,000 was possible. Finally, in discussion with the Foundation's team, the President suggested we go ahead with a donation of $100,000 instead," said Ty Diep, National Regulatory Affairs Manager for Burnbrae Farms in Saint-Zotique.
The Burnbrae Farms Foundation's contribution is in addition to that of Promutuel Assurance Horizon-Ouest and the MNA for Soulanges, Marilyne Picard, to name but a few.
