Ten new medals for Gymini athletes

Once again, Gymini athletes stood out from the crowd at the second Coupe Québec, held in Repentigny on February 16, 17 and 18. Throughout the competition, gymnasts from N4 to N6 competed to achieve outstanding results. 

In the N4 category, for 9-10 year-olds, Gymini gymnasts impressed with their determination and performance.

Simone Baillargeon's routine on bars placed her 13th overall on apparatus. 

Rosalie Lafrance, performing her toggle on bars for the first time, finished the competition in 12th place.

Sarah Audet was also successful on low bar, securing 11th place, while Mackenzie Kra stood out with 8th place on beam, 6th place on floor and 7th place overall.

The competition also saw N6 gymnasts, notably in the 11-12 and 13-14 categories, demonstrate their talent and determination.

Emma Lawn, in the 11-12 age group, bounced back from a difficult start to take 4th place on vault, 7th place on beam and 8th place on floor.

In the N6 category, aged 13-14, performances were particularly noteworthy. Justine Brennan maintained a positive attitude throughout the competition, showing pride and confidence, which was reflected in her 2nd place on beam and 5th place on floor.

Marianne Blain also put in a solid performance, finishing 7th on bars and beam and 6th on floor. By improving her overall total by 1 full point, she took 5th place on all apparatus.

Noémie Vincent managed her stress well, completing new elements without a hitch and earning 4th place on vault and 6th place on beam.Sofy Panfilii took bronze on uneven bars, silver on vault and bronze overall.

Anaïs Robert shone on vault with a score of 9.75 out of 10, taking gold on this apparatus. She also placed 6th on floor and 4th overall.Frédérique Corbin, despite a knee injury sustained over the last few months, presented a polished floor routine, earning praise for her perseverance.Marianne Di Turi was unable to take part in the competition due to injury, but was on hand to cheer on her teammates.

District 1 champion

Finally, in the N6 category, 15 years +, Naomie Savoie stood out during the competition to such an extent that she won the District 1 Champion trophy, awarded to the gymnast with the best overall result at the Quebec Cup. 

The young athlete went home with two silver and three gold medals, notably for her performances on uneven bars, beam and cumulative apparatus. She scored 38.275 out of 40.00. 

The athletes will compete again on February 23 in Victoriaville for the 2nd Sélection nationale N9-N10, and on February 24 in Montreal for the 2nd Évaluation défi régional R3 à R6
