Club Gymini: proud of its results at the Défi provincial in February
Last weekend was marked by the superb performances of Gymini athletes at the Deuxième évaluation Défi provincial, held in Laval. Many gymnasts distinguished themselves.
Mackenzie Kra, doing her first level 5 evaluation, performed well on artistic beam and floor. She received a special mention for her minichelli on beam, demonstrating her determination.
Kara Panagiotopoulos, in her first provincial challenge at level 3, coped brilliantly with stress and distinguished herself on the bar and beam.
Simone Baillargeon, in her second evaluation at Level 4, drew the judges' attention with her cabriole jumps and superb floor turn, earning a special mention.
Rosalie Lafrance, also in second evaluation - level 4, delivered a fine performance on trampoline, floor and beam, finishing with a score of 77% and just three moves away from completing her level 4.
Sarah Audet, in her second evaluation - level 4, achieved a remarkable score of 87%, enabling her to move up to level 5 for the final evaluation of the year.
Deuxième coupe Québec GAM
In men's artistic gymnastics, athletes took part in the Deuxième coupe GAM in Joliette.
Raphaël Lauzon, in his first participation in the Challenge, showed promising development despite the difficulties of Challenge 1 in which he took part.
In the N1 category, Albert Prévost impressed in his first competition, finishing 7th overall on all apparatus, with bronze medals on pommel horse and silver on rings.
Cédric Thibeault, also competing for the first time, tackled the stress with a positive attitude, achieving 7th place on floor among 22 competitors, and a new outing on parallel bars.
Mathis Venne, another novice, finished 6th overall on apparatus, with a silver medal on high bar for his beautiful lines and confident swing.
Alexandre Lalonde delivered quality performances on vault and rings, where he earned a bronze medal, finishing 7th overall.
Charles Édouard Dupuis finished 5th overall, winning gold in the rings and a bronze medal in the jump, following good performances.
Finally, Samuel Parent, an experienced athlete, took part in his first national competition. His performance earned him a bronze medal on the parallel bars.
