Most Improved Wheelchair Tennis Player Award
December 2023: Pincourt's Natalia Lanucha honoured by Tennis Canada
With Natalia Lanucha's countless efforts and immense progress in wheelchair tennis this year, it's no surprise that Tennis Canada crowned her the 2023 Most Improved Wheelchair Tennis Player of the Year, when it presented its Awards of Excellence to its various player categories on December 19.
"Thank you so much! I've worked very hard all year, so I'm very happy that this effort has been recognized! Thanks to everyone who helped me, and a special thanks to my coach Étienne Bergeron and my mental coach Kirsten Bjorn," she enthused on her social media page.
Lanucha, from Pincourt, reached a new peak at 47th in the world in women's singles.
During the year, she was crowned singles champion at the Fredericton Futures, and captured the singles and doubles titles at the Birmingham Canadian Championships.
She also reached the round of 16 at the Parapan American Games in Santiago, Chile, last November.
