Autoroute 30 Express: fraudulent text message alert
The managers of Autoroute 30 Express, on which free travel has been in effect for several days, in connection with the reduction in lanes on the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge, and the mitigation measures proposed by the Quebec government, are advising users, via their website, that fraudulent text messages are currently being sent to various people, requesting payment.
As Marc Desserrière, General Manager of Autoroute 30 Express, explains, "This alert has nothing to do with leaks in our database; it's about fraudulent text messages that first started with Autoroute 25, then evolved and spread to various toll highways".
He adds: "We are of course asking the public to disregard these text messages, and we are monitoring the situation closely. If there is the slightest doubt, people are invited to contact us by telephone or via the form available on our website".
As specified on the opening page of their website, the organization states:
"Fraudulent text messages in circulation - Please note that A30 Express does NOT request payment by text message. Please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Service Center at 1-855-783-3030.
As a mitigation measure to the major obstructions on the Ile-aux-Tourtes bridge, tolls on Autoroute 30 are currently free of charge. "
Motorists are advised to disregard these text messages. For more information, here's the link to the website: https://a30express.com/.
