Jeux du Québec: Second-to-last day of competition
The 57th Quebec Games Finals continue this Friday, for the second-to-last day.
The women's volleyball team will take on the Lanaudière team in the quarter-finals. Depending on the result, further games are scheduled for the afternoon. On Thursday, they added two wins and one loss to their scoreboard.
The golfers will be back at Le Bic for the Jeu par coups - Stableford tournament. The boys (15-16 years) won the bronze medal on Thursday, when they played in the two-man Vegas format. The girls (13-17) finished 10th, and the boys (13-14) 16th.
In mountain biking, the cyclists will take part in the queen event, Olympic cross-country. On Thursday, Félix Lamontagne (Saint-Lazare) completed the circuit with a time of 40:31.62, placing him 8th in the standings.
On the water, the helmsmen will hoist their sails once again, in races counting towards the cumulative ranking. Results were very encouraging for the Sud-Ouest, with Cédrik Dumais (Vaudreuil-Dorion) finishing first on Thursday. Ocean Robinson (Saint-Lazare) and Angus Beauregard (Hudson) finished 7th and 12th respectively.
Thursday was a tough day for our young soccer players. The boys' team lost 2-1 to Lanaudière, while the girls were defeated 3-0 by the Capitale Nationale.
This Friday, the girls take on Centre-du-Québec and the boys, Chaudière-Appalaches.
Finally, in baseball, the girls will complete their tournament this Friday. The team they will face has yet to be determined. On Thursday, they gave the Outaouais team a 13-6 victory.
