Jeux du Québec: sailing, soccer, mountain biking and more on the schedule
After an initial victory over Côte-Nord, the girls' soccer team unfortunately lost 8-0 to Laval on Wednesday at the 57th Finale des Jeux du Québec in Rimouski.
The boys, who were up against the Laurentians, also had to lay down their arms against their opponents with a score of 7-0.
The first round of competition for the coxswains was most promising. Ocean Robinson (Saint-Lazare), Angus Beauregard (Hudson) and Cédrik Dumais (Vaudreuil-Dorion) finished 5th, 8th and 14th respectively.
In the 15 and under age group, Justin Amyot (Hudson) took first place, while Axel Snyder (Vaudreuil-Dorion) and Azalea Robinson (Saint-Lazare) placed 2nd and 5th respectively.
In golf, the Sud-Ouest placed 9th, with 60 points, in the 2-ball, best-ball tournament for boys aged 15-16. The girls (aged 13-14) came in 7th with 48 points. In the same age group, the boys finished 16th.
In mountain biking, Félix Lamontagne (Saint-Lazare) placed 11th in the short-course cross-country event.
Finally, in baseball, the girls lost 15-0 and 11-10 to Richelieu-Yamaska and Lac Saint-Louis.
What's on Thursday
Golfers will tee off at Le Bic in the Végas formula.
In sailing, the races continue and contribute to the cumulative rankings.
Cyclists take to the trails in cross-country mode.
In volleyball, the girls will compete in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Montreal and Nunavik.
Soccer tournaments also continue. The girls take on Capitale-Nationale, while the boys face Lanaudière.
Finally, the women's baseball players will take on the Outaouais team.
