The Centre de services scolaires des Trois-Lacs (CSSTL) has been granted $16 million in funding for expansion work at Virginie-Roy elementary school in L'Île-Perrot.

According to information received by Néomédia, the work will be required, among other things, to open 4-year-old kindergarten classes at the school.

For the start of the 2023 school year, seven schools serving the LSSC will offer 4-year-old kindergarten: École Cuillierrier, École des Orioles, École du Val-des-Prés, École de l'Épervière, École de l'Hymne-au-Printemps, École des Légendes and École Saint-Michel.

"We're currently working on the plans and specifications for the expansion, so we don't have a precise timetable yet," points out Alexandra Desrochers, coordinator of the General Secretariat and Communications Department at CSSTL.

Earlier this week, Soulanges MNA Marilyne Picard announced investments of over $240,000 for three schoolyard beautification projects.
