The Association de Hockey Mineur Ile Perrot (AHMIP) and the Association de Hockey Mineur Vaudreuil-Dorion (AHMVD) are disassociating themselves from the Ligue Hockey Trent Ouest (LHTO) for single letter field hockey from U9 to U18.

Indeed, for the next season of single letter field hockey, the AHMIP and the AHMVD will join the Central Hockey League (CHL) composed of the Dollard Minor Hockey Association, the Lakeshore Minor Hockey Association, the Pierrefonds Minor Hockey Association and the West Island Minor Hockey Association.

As a result, all single letter games for local association teams in the U9, U11, U13, U15 and U18 categories will now be played only against CHL teams.

"As we plan for the 2023-2024 minor field hockey season and continue to look for ways to promote field hockey and grow the game in our municipalities, the MHPA and MVHA felt that being able to reduce the cost and travel time associated with away games was of fundamental importance to parents and families who are committed to a recreational field hockey season. The move from the LHTO to the CHL at all single letter levels and in all age categories will allow us to achieve this goal," said Maxime Poirier, President of the AHMIP.

Last week, AHMIP and AHMVD announced their merger for double letter teams.
