Coteau-du-Lac-born singer-songwriter Meghan Oak is having a big moment this Wednesday, October 18: she's launching her four-track mini-album Avant-goût. Interview with Meghan Oak, who will soon be flying to Paris to develop a network of international contacts.

How did the young woman feel on this important day? “I'm excited. Tonight is the third launch of this mini-album. The other two took place in Gatineau and Sherbrooke. I'm happy, they went really well. We intend to celebrate in style tonight. Roselle will be opening for me, and an artist from France will accompany me on stage to perform two songs. We want to surprise the audience. My family will be there, and I'm lucky, they've also come to attend the Gatineau launch,” she confided a little before noon on the big day.

With Avant-goût, Meghan Oak explores the nuances of human relationships, temporality and introspection. Set to haunting electro-pop melodies, she plunges listeners into a universe where the fragility of moments and the rapidity of emotions take on their full meaning.

This project is supported by “Météore”, the EP's theme song, produced by Charles Guay and Robert RobertWith its danceable electro-pop rhythm and introspective lyrics, this song explores fragility and ephemerality.

Using the analogy of meteors, it illustrates how relationships can evolve rapidly, marking an entire life in an instant. This opus serves as a foretaste of a debut career album currently in the works.

“ Robert Robert and I enjoyed our collaboration on this project so much that we promised to work together on my first career album. The year 2025 will be devoted in part to its composition and recording.By the way, the mini-album launched tonight is aptly named, as it gives a foretaste of the longer album to follow,” she added.

The video for the song Météore will be released this Friday, October 25, and will spontaneously carry the viewer away in a captivating electro-pop cadence, reflecting the speed and intensity of the song's emotions.

How will Meghan Oak spend her next few months after these three launches? “In less than a month, I'm off to Paris to write, compose and make contacts in the field. It will be a first visit for me there. I'm very excited. After that, I'm going to take a short break, because the last year has been intense.I've released two EPs in two years, so I need to clear my head. Part of 2025 will be devoted to creating my first career album,” she concludes.

The song Hallucine is already playing on radio stations across the province.
