By Martin Giroux at Parc de la Maison-Valois
A look back at the Richard Desjardins tribute show
It was finally on Tuesday, August 22, that performer Martin Giroux, discovered by the general public in 2004 thanks to the musical competition Star Académie, was at Vaudreuil-Dorion's Parc de la Maison-Valois.
Giroux, who played Phoebus in the musical Notre-Dame-de-Paris earlier this year, presented a tribute show to Richard Desjardins, Quand j'aime une fois j'aime pour toujours.
The singer was originally scheduled to perform in the region last May, but the weather decided otherwise.
Throughout the summer season, the agora at Parc de la Maison-Valois was the open-air stage for numerous performances. The 2023 edition of the Les rythmes d'été series welcomed Luce Dufault, Brian Tyler, Véronique Labbé, Ludovick Bourgeois, the band De Temps Antan and Kim Richardson.
Martin Giroux released his first career album, "Faut que j'te dise", on October 11, 2005. It includes the songs J't'aimerai encore, À cent à l'heure and Chienne de vie.
On March 17, 2008, he unveiled his second career opus, En cavale. Two years later, on March 23, 2010, he released his third album, La vie, ça s'mérite.
He has also lent his voice to musicals such as Dracula, in which he doubled Bruno Pelletier in the title role in 2006. In 2016, he landed the role of Phoebus in the French revival of Notre-Dame-de-Paris.
