The St-Hubert restaurant located on Avenue Saint-Charles in Vaudreuil-Dorion joins the inclusive dining room project. As of this Sunday, February 23, the rotisserie will adapt its dining room to accommodate people with autism spectrum disorder and their families. The topic inspired the survey question of the week for the Neomédia team.

For some time now, several St-Hubert Rôtisseries have been welcoming people with autism and their families on Sundays in a supportive environment. The employees of these restaurants are trained to better respond to the reality of people with autism and ensure that they respond to the various sensitivities of this clientele using different means, The reduction of artificial lighting and ambient music volume, as well as table preselection and a range of sensory kits.

To date, there will be 26 St-Hubert restaurants that welcome families who wish to take advantage of this inclusive initiative on Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. In the region, the Avenue Saint-Charles branch is the first to follow suit.

Of course, people with autism and their families can visit these restaurants as well as those in the entire chain at any time, but adjustments to music and lighting are reserved for Sundays at noon.

This project that aims to optimize the customer experience for all is initiated by the St-Hubert Foundation and the Fondation Autiste et majeur with the support and expertise of the centre d'autisme A pas de géant, a leader in education, Training and promoting the inclusion of people with autism in all sectors of society for over 40 years.

To jump-start the question, Néomédia asks this week: Inclusive dining rooms: a concept to spread?
