For its 85th edition, the Régates de Valleyfield is hitting back with a headlining performance by American band Smash Mouth. The group will perform on the regatta stage on July 12.

A pop-rock icon of the early 2000s, the band has scored six top-20 hits. Among these, Walkin' On The Sun, Can't Get Enough of You Baby and All Star" have reached the top spot, the latter even passing the impressive milestone of one billion listens on Spotify. Younger listeners will recognize them above all from the soundtrack to the famous Shrek film, released in 2001, when the band covered the hit I'm a Believer, originally released in 1966 and performed by The Monkeys.

"For our 85th edition, we wanted to hit hard with a program that combines nostalgia and novelty. The arrival of Smash Mouth represents a historic moment for our festival, and demonstrates our ability to attract world-class artists," says Émilie Daoust, General Manager of the Régates de Valleyfield.

Quebec and nostalgia in

Delpha-Sauvé Park welcomes the Régates de Valleyfield on July 4 and 5 for a first weekend of free concerts. The festivities kick off on Friday with Mat et ses paquets d'troubles and Alter Ego, followed on Saturday by Undercover and Lendemain de veille.

The traditional evening shows kick off on Thursday, July 10, with Phil Lauzon and his tribute to Luke Combs. This will be followed by P-A Méthot's Méga Party Rock. The comedian and his group Les Pas Propres will welcome Jonas Tomalty, Brigitte Boisjoli, Breen Leboeuf, Christian Marc Gendron and Lulu Hughes to sing the greatest rock hits from the 70s to today.

On Friday, July 11, festival-goers will be treated to a punk-rock-flavored evening with Campivallensian band Morgan and the Québec Redneck Bluegrass Project musical ensemble. The Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean musicians captivate crowds with their energetic performances, featuring mandolin, fiddle, guitar, double bass and passionate backing vocals.
Finally, the program on Saturday, July 12 is sure to please many an audience.

At the start of the evening, the Big Shiny Show, made up of five musicians including former Star Académie contestant Andee, will present a retrospective of the greatest hits from the Big Shiny Tunes compilations that have marked several generations.

Tickets for the evening shows on July 10, 11 and 12 will go on sale very soon.
