Moisson Sud-Ouest will soon receive a cash donation of $8,800 - the equivalent of nearly 25,000 meals - from METRO and its Metro, Super C, Adonis, Première Moisson, Jean Coutu and Brunet banners, as part of their third Healthy Together campaign, aimed at fighting food insecurity.

Moisson Sud-Ouest General Manager Stéphane Spisak and Yan Ouellette, Director of Communications and Philanthropy are delighted with this news, says Mr. Ouellette. The money should reach them shortly, via the Banques alimentaires du Québec (BAQ), he added.

According to Martin Munger, General Manager of BAQ, this amount will enable regional organizations to support their operations, as issues related to food insecurity and access to basic necessities continue to grow: “Thank you to the METRO team and customers for their involvement in our communities all year round,” he emphasized.

“Metro, Super C, Adonis and Première Moisson stores, as well as Jean Coutu and Brunet pharmacies in Montérégie, are invaluable partners of Banques alimentaires du Québec, its Moissons members, associate members and affiliated organizations, year-round. We can count on their donations of foodstuffs and hygiene products, particularly as part of the Supermarket Recovery Program,” added Mr. Munger.

The company is proud of the contribution and mobilization of its stores and affiliated pharmacies in support of the cause. Contributing to the economic and social well-being of the communities in which we operate is at the heart of METRO's business practices and corporate culture. METRO thanks the exceptional generosity of customers, who were invited to make a donation at the checkout, a total of nearly $440,000 was raised last November in stores across Quebec and donated to the Quebec Food Banks. To maximize the campaign's impact, METRO made an additional donation of $500,000, bringing the total to $940,000.
