Maison de la Famille Vaudreuil-Soulanges is one of the organizations nominated for the Bourses d'initiatives en entrepreneuriat collectif (BIEC), 2025 edition. The public is invited to vote starting at 10 a.m. this Monday, January 13, to help the organization win the Coup de coeur du Public award.

The project nominated by BIEC aims to implement a social-rate tutoring service in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region. This innovative model would adapt the cost of educational services to the financial capacity of families, making tutoring accessible while ensuring the organization's financial sustainability.

This project combines a social economy approach with principles of equity and social justice. It is part of a long-term perspective to support educational success and reduce educational inequalities.

The result of in-depth analysis

The decision by the Maison de la Famille de Vaudreuil-Soulanges to set up a socially-funded tutoring service was the result of in-depth analysis. Since the pandemic, school-age children have been facing increased challenges, including academic delays. These problems particularly affect vulnerable families, especially those of immigrant origin or living in economically precarious conditions.

At the same time, the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region, while benefiting from a generally favorable socio-economic level, has pockets of social and material disadvantage. Rising immigration is also creating a growing need for tutoring.

The Socially Priced Tutoring project responds to this problem by offering services that are accessible to all families, regardless of income, and by tailoring teaching to children's specific needs. It also promotes greater equality of opportunity in terms of educational success, while enabling the organization to diversify its sources of revenue.

In the past, Maison de la Famille has already won an Ovations award for its homework help project in 2018, and deploys a service in over fifteen schools, libraries and community centers. The organization has expertise in educational success throughout Vaudreuil-Soulanges.

You can vote for the Maison de la Famille de Vaudreuil-Soulanges at BEIC until January 27 at: https://bit.ly/407qFyV.
