Like many municipalities in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region, the Ville de Saint-Zotique took advantage of its special 2025 budget adoption meeting on Tuesday, December 17 to present its three-year 2025-2027 Capital Expenditure Plan. The document outlining the main projects in which the elected officials would like to invest was then adopted by the members of the municipal council.

For the year starting next January 1, Ville de Saint-Zotique expects to fund projects to the tune of $23,534,900. This sum will be distributed as follows among the various municipal departments:

- Public safety: $348,800;

- Transportation: $11,311,800;

- Environmental hygiene: $9,267,300;

- Administration: $198,000

- Urban planning and development: $50,000;

- Recreation: $1,054,000;

- Beach: $305,000;

These capital expenditures will be financed from three sources: Known grants applicable to certain projects (amounts to be confirmed), future financing ($21,132,900) and use of surpluses and reserved funds ($2,402,000).

Over the course of 2025, several major projects will be carried out on our territory. These include the construction of a cultural and community building, pavement repairs on 69th Avenue, rehabilitation of the sanitary network in the western sector, partial reconstruction of 34th Avenue, upgrading of pumping stations and upgrading of the wastewater treatment plant,” indicated Finance Director Jessica Leroux during the detailed presentation of the 2025-2027 ITP.

For his part, Mayor Yvon Chiasson emphasized the adaptable nature of the ITP. “It's a planning tool, but nothing is definitive. For example, if subsidies are not available for certain projects listed in the ITP for 2025, the project could be postponed to 2026 or 2027. Just because an expense is included in the ITP doesn't mean it has to be carried out,” he concludes.
