Parc du Canal de Soulanges Earns ParQ Accreditation
The Parc du canal de Soulanges has officially received the ParQ accreditation. This recognition, awarded by the Association des parcs régionaux du Québec, highlights the park's commitment to eco-friendly outdoor activities, safety, high-quality visitor experiences, and the preservation of natural environments.
The ParQ accreditation program includes around 50 mandatory standards and 20 recommended practices, helping regional parks structure their operations and stand out through exemplary practices.
The program encompasses ten aspects, ranging from administration to outdoor equipment rentals, sustainable and responsible practices, and guided adventure tourism activities.
"With this accreditation, we reaffirm our mission: showcasing the heritage of the Soulanges Canal through outdoor activities and culture," stated the Parc du canal de Soulanges team.
A Shared Achievement
In the region, the Parc régional de Beauharnois-Salaberry has also been awarded this accreditation.
Public Consultation Ongoing
In recent weeks, the park team presented its master plan, inviting the public to share their feedback through a virtual consultation available at: https://fr.surveymonkey.com/r/GZ28QMC.
The consultation includes visuals from the plan, a short video explaining the inspiration behind the proposals, and a recap video of one of the information sessions. Residents have until December 13 to participate.
This initiative was funded under the 2021-2023 Cultural Development Agreement between the MRC of Vaudreuil-Soulanges and Culture et Communications Québec.
Collaborative Effort
Key partners involved in developing the master plan include the municipalities of Pointe-des-Cascades, Les Cèdres, Les Coteaux, and the City of Coteau-du-Lac, as well as Développement Vaudreuil-Soulanges and the Conseil des arts et de la culture de Vaudreuil-Soulanges (CACVS).
