The Île-Perrot fire department has been responding to the blaze at 234 7th Avenue for the past hour. Initial findings suggest that the blaze originated in the kitchen of the residence. However, the point of origin has yet to be confirmed at the time of writing.

The building in which the fire broke out houses two-storey apartments, as well as an adjacent garage to the right of the building.

According to our information, one dog died as a result of the fire, and another was located safe and sound in a cage. A cat, which was isolated in a bathroom, was resuscitated by emergency services during the response.

Firefighters from the local brigade called in their colleagues from Pincourt\Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot and Terrasse-Vaudreuil.

More details to follow.
