New safe crosswalk on Montée du Comté

The Municipality of Les Coteaux wishes to inform road users on its territory of a new safe crosswalk. It is located on Montée du Comté, opposite the Tim Hortons restaurant. 

It includes not only road markings, but also rectangular rapid flashing lights (FRCR). What does this mean for pedestrians and drivers? 

If you're a walker or cyclist and want to use it safely, here's what to do: 

- Press the button to activate the flashing lights before crossing.
 - Make sure drivers see you and give way before crossing.
 - Cyclists, remember to dismount and walk alongside to benefit from pedestrian priority.

Drivers, be aware that even if the lights are not activated, you must give way to pedestrians who are crossing or intending to cross.

FRCRs make crossing safer, especially in high-traffic areas.
