Two tents occupied by homeless people caught fire at around 5:52 pm on Monday September 23, under the Taschereau bridge in Pincourt. The fire required the intervention of a team from the local Service de sécurité incendie, according to information sent to Néomédia by brigade director Yanick Bernier.

“There were three people who had been at this location for some time. One of them died about two weeks ago of an accidental overdose, while the other two are still there. While on deck, they heard a noise and saw smoke in the moments before the fire. When they arrived on the scene, the tents were on fire. Inside were cooking and heating appliances, which may have caused the fire. But we can't say for sure,” he sums up.

Unfortunately, both men lost all their personal belongings in the fire. Fortunately, they suffered no injuries.

The pair were referred to the L'Aiguillage organization by the authorities. A citizens' movement has been launched on social networks to help the two men.
