A single-family home at 2751 rue du Salerne was engulfed in flames around noon on Wednesday in Saint-Lazare. Several firefighters from neighbouring municipalities were involved, but fortunately no one was injured.

At the time of writing, the cause of the blaze remains unknown. We do know, however, that crews from the Hudson and Vaudreuil-Dorion fire departments were called in to assist the local brigade. The air bank of the Pincourt/Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot fire department was also called in.

The Community Emergency Measures Unit (UCMU) was also dispatched to support the firefighters on site.

According to our information, the affected residence is a total loss.
