Highway 40 westbound, at kilometer 29 in Vaudreuil-Dorion, is currently being held up after a truck carrying thousands of chickens went off the road. The accident occurred at 3:43 am on Friday August 30.

The truck overturned in the median strip of the freeway. According to information provided by the Sûreté du Québec, the behemoth is still being towed on Highway 40, which will require the retrenchment of one lane.

“Only one vehicle was involved, and no injuries were reported as a result of the incident,” confirms police spokeswoman Elizabeth Marquis.
