The Musée régional de Vaudreuil-Soulanges (MRVS) and the Route des arts de Vaudreuil-Soulanges (RAVS) join forces in 2024 to launch the next artistic pilgrimage in nine municipalities of Vaudreuil-Soulanges. The exhibition and itinerary were launched at the Musée régional on August 22. The Route des Arts will take place on September 21 and 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the artists' residences.
This year, 25 artists are taking part in the Route des Arts. The Musée régional is presenting a work by each of them in an exhibition that opened yesterday and will run until September 22, entitled la Route des arts de Vaudreuil-Soulanges 2024.
Here is the list of participants in the 2024 exhibition:
Michel Jacques Chalifoux, Martin Daoust, Derek Davidson, Annie de Lorimier, Denise Desjardins, Martine Dugal, Nancy Jane Farnum, Marie-José Gélinas, Jessandra Guindon, Chantal Koot, Johanne Kourie, Charles Leblanc, Renée Mollitt, Émilie Parent, James Parry, Diane Piacente, Lilianne Pilon, Mélanie Poirier, Allison Robin Smith, Sarah Robinson, Louise Séguin, Martin Séguin, Audrey Seyer, Ruben Torrego and Mona Turner.
As exhibition curator Chantal Séguin explained at the launch: “We're the region's largest cultural organization, so it's only natural that this exhibition should be one of our priorities. Visitors will be able to explore the works before the touring exhibition begins, and get an idea of which artists they'll like best".
Louise Séguin, President of the Board of Directors of the Route des arts de Vaudreuil-Soulanges and a jewelry artist, took the floor and warmly thanked the regional museum: “We're really happy that the museum is letting us exhibit the works of creators and their support; it gives everyone a chance to get to know the artists, some new, some well-known, from the region.”
Ms. Séguin also took the opportunity to thank all the members of her Board of Directors, as well as Caisse Desjardins de Vaudreuil-Soulanges and Développement Vaudreuil-Soulanges (via Explore Vaudreuil-Soulanges) for their support of the Route des arts.
A number of municipal and provincial political figures were on hand to lend their support to the event, including Soulanges MNA Maryline Picard, and the mayors of Les Cèdres, Les Coteaux, Rigaud and Saint-Lazare, Bernard Daoust, Sylvain Brazeau, Geneviève Lachance and Marie-Claude Frigault respectively.
Also in attendance was Daniel Bissonnette, General Manager of the regional museum, and Bernard Bourbonnais, Chairman of the museum's Board of Directors.
A brochure will shortly be available at the regional museum, providing full details of the artists participating in la Route des arts de Vaudreuil-Soulanges.
In the meantime, when visiting the exhibition in the museum's multi-purpose room (please call the regional museum to make sure the room is open before a visit), each artist indicates under their work, their contact details for the Route des arts de Vaudreuil-Soulanges 2024.
