Île-aux-Tourtes bridge: completely closed from August 16 to 19
The Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable wishes to inform road users that the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge, linking Senneville and Vaudreuil-Dorion on Highway 40 (Félix-Leclerc), will be completely closed to traffic over the coming weekend, from August 16 to 19.
This closure is required for maintenance work, including the installation of a membrane and asphalt paving operations on the bridge.
Closures scheduled from Friday, August 16, at 11:59 p.m. to Monday, August 19, at 5 a.m:
- Complete closure of Autoroute 40 westbound between Exit 41 - Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue/Boul. des Anciens-Combattants/ Autoroute 20 westbound/Île Perrot and the entrance from avenue Saint-Charles.
- In the westbound direction, access to chemin Senneville will be maintained for users travelling to this area.
- Complete closure of eastbound Autoroute 40 between Exit 35 - Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac/Vaudreuil-Dorion/Av. St-Charles and the entrance from boulevard des Anciens-Combattants.
- The ramp leading from autoroute 40 to the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge will be closed at the interchange with autoroute 30.
Users are invited to use autoroutes 20 and 30 instead.
At the end of these complete closures, on Monday August 19 at 5 a.m., a total of three lanes will be available on the bridge, including two Montreal-bound lanes for the morning rush hour, thanks to dynamic traffic management.
Detour routes will be marked with temporary signage
During this closure, the public is invited to use public transit and take advantage of the mitigation measures in place due to the obstructions on the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge. In addition, tolls will be suspended in both directions on Autoroute 30 to provide an additional alternative. The Ministry advises road users who will have to travel in the area to allow extra time to reach their destination.Work may be postponed due to unfavorable weather conditions or operational constraints.
