Residents and parents of students attending Collège Bourget can expect to see some movement on the construction of the new multi-purpose track on rue Bourget as early as the week of August 12, with the installation of safety fencing to circumscribe the work area.

From the week of Monday August 19, demolition and excavation work will begin, lasting around 7 weeks. Although collection services will be maintained throughout the work, as well as access for local residents (their visitors, suppliers and contractors), and for emergency and transport vehicles, residents will have to expect certain inconveniences, including :

- Alternating traffic on one lane by means of a synchronized traffic light;
- No on-street parking;
- complete closure of the existing bike path on the private residence side (and removal of bollards)
removal of bollards);
- Noise and dust Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Detour lasting approximately 7 weeks

Parents of students attending the school, as well as visitors to the Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes sanctuary and users of the arena, will have to follow the signs indicating the detour to their destination (via rue de l'Hôtel-de-Ville, rue Saint-Viateur and rue de Lourdes).

Temporary drop-off point for collège students

Collège Bourget will inform parents of the temporary drop-off zone (débarcadère) set up on rue de Lourdes alongside the arena, with directions posted on the city's website. Parents must respect the instructions issued by the school to ensure the safety of students when vehicles are unloaded and parents pick up their children.

Rue de Lourdes: school zone for pupils of école de l'Épervière

All motorists, without exception, are advised to exercise extreme caution in their movements due to the heavy traffic redirected onto Rue de Lourdes, a school zone for the pick-up and drop-off of pupils from Épervière elementary school. Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destination.

Traffic rules for school buses

The purpose of this work is to ensure the well-being of children in the school zone on rue Bourget, whose current configuration makes it difficult and dangerous for motorists, pedestrians, cyclists and residents living on this street to cohabit. It goes without saying, therefore, that all motorists are invited to protect the lives of all children in any school zone they may cross, including that of École de l'Épervière, by respecting the rules of the road in the presence of a school bus, which apply to all drivers of road vehicles and cyclists.
