Municipal infrastructure: an envelope of over $27 million for Soulanges
The Quebec government is allocating more than $27 million to municipalities in the Soulanges riding for municipal infrastructure projects under the Quebec Water and Community Infrastructure Transfer Program (TECQ) 2024-2028.
The financial assistance will be paid to municipalities over the next five years to enable them to fund municipal infrastructure projects, including those related to drinking water and wastewater treatment, local roadways, energy improvements to buildings, as well as resilient infrastructure and infrastructure for cultural, community, sports and leisure purposes.
The first work programs can be submitted as of November 2024.
“Municipal infrastructure requires considerable investment. I am delighted that our government is financially supporting municipalities in the implementation of their projects. As a result, citizens will be able to benefit from improved, modernized and safe infrastructures and services. I'm proud of this announcement, which is sure to have a positive impact on all Soulange residents,” said Soulanges MNA Marilyne Picard.
A total investment of over $3.2 billion has been announced for the program. Of this amount, $1 billion comes from the Quebec government and $2.2 billion from the Community Futures Development Fund (CFD) administrative agreement signed with the Government of Canada in June 2024.
