The Paris Olympic Games officially kicked off in the last few days, leaving no one indifferent with its colorful opening ceremony.
Whether it's the various artistic tableaux presented, the performances of Lady Gaga, Aya Nakamura, Philippe Katerine and, of course, Céline Dion, everyone has something to say about the ceremony.
Nevertheless, the Olympic Games remain a masterful sporting competition, and now the eyes of the world are on these top-class athletes. Some sixty athletes from Quebec will be performing in various disciplines in the hope of returning home with a medal.
Among them will be L'Île-Perrot triathlete Emy Legaut, who will take to the Alexandre III Bridge on July 31, at 8 a.m. Paris time, in the solo category, while the mixed relay category will compete on August 5, also at 8 a.m. Paris time.
Aged 28, Emy Legault already has several major international competitions under her belt. In 2023, Legault helped Canada win the bronze medal in the mixed relay at the Pan-American Games in Santiago.
Rosalie Lalonde will also be taking part in the Paralympic Games to be held in Paris from August 28 to September 8. This will be the third Games for the Saint-Clet-born wheelchair basketball player.
For the next few weeks, the Games will be at the heart of world news, and they inspired Neomedia's question of the week. Do you follow the Olympic Games? Take the survey, click here.
