Highway 20: The population remains hopeful but not very confident
Many people are hopeful, but not very confident, that citizen involvement will move the Autoroute 20 project forward. At least, that's what emerged from Néomédia's latest in-house survey, which asked the question: Autoroute 20: Will citizen involvement move the project forward?
On May 29, a group of citizens and merchants from Vaudreuil-Dorion and L'Île-Perrot launched a petition to urge the government to officially commit to the Highway 20 completion project as soon as possible.
At the same time, an online petition headed by a Vaudreuil-Dorion citizen and sponsored by Vaudreuil MNA Marie-Claude Nichols was also created.
22.6% of respondents said they had nothing to lose by trying. 19.4% of readers are totally confident that the initiative will bear fruit, while 12.9% have no hope at all.
Finally, nearly 10% of participants believe that if citizen involvement proved its worth in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges hospital case, perhaps it will have an effect on Highway 20.
