Cégep Gérald-Godin's Continuing Education and Business Services held the second edition of its major networking event on Wednesday, June 12, in a festive and thought-provoking atmosphere. Retail expert and professor emeritus at HEC Montréal, Jacques Nantel, C.M. Ph. D., was the guest of honor at the event, which brought together business people from the West Island of Montreal and Vaudreuil-Dorion, members of the Cégep Gérald-Godin, as well as the borough mayor of L'Île-Bizard-Sainte-Geneviève, Mr. Doug Hurley, and representatives of the Member of Parliament for Nelligan, Mr. Monsef Derraji.

Before the attentive gaze of some 50 guests, Mr. Nantel delivered a captivating speech on our changing society and the business opportunities it offers. "With the climate crisis, high structural debt and new consumption models, we are now at a crossroads, explained Mr. Nantel. It's now up to you, the entrepreneurs, to give yourselves the tools to evolve and rethink our economy."

"That's where our business services come in, added Valérie Gosselin, Director of Continuing Education and Business Services at Cégep Gérald-Godin. In these times of multiple changes and complex challenges, we're proud to provide valuable support to workers and managers to help them adapt to the new realities of the job market."

This event was an initiative of Cégep Gérald-Godin's Continuing Education and Business Services, in collaboration with the West Island of Montreal Chamber of Commerce and PME MTL West Island.

From 5 to 7 p.m., the Cégep welcomed its guests in its Agora, ready to host this kind of large-scale event. To the delight of gourmets, sommelier Guillaume Turpin was on hand to offer tastings of excellent wines, while catering was provided by La Maison Verte, a local restaurant. In addition, a $1,000 business training credit was drawn from among the participants. The prize was awarded to Sylvie Ghanimé of Stérivi.
