A delegation from Cégep de Valleyfield took part in the 43rd annual colloquium of the Association québécoise de pédagogie collégiale (AQPC) from June 5 to 7, at Cégep de l'Outaouais and Cégep Heritage College.

A must-attend event for the Quebec college network, the AQPC welcomed over 1,350 participants, offering them a platform for exchange and reflection on a variety of topics, including pedagogy, success, perseverance, research, international issues and the future of college education, enabling participants to share and discuss best practices.

During the colloquium, the AQPC awards various honorary distinctions, giving private and public colleges the opportunity to recognize the competence, dedication and pedagogical commitment of a member of their teaching staff. These distinctions highlight the remarkable work of individuals who contribute to the evolution of teaching. Thanks to their commitment, the college network offers quality training and services to the Quebec student community.

Honourable mention for a Cégep de Valleyfield teacher

As part of the symposium, Angèle Michaud, a physical education teacher at Cégep de Valleyfield, received an honorary mention for her achievements. This distinction enables colleges to highlight the pedagogical commitment of a member of their teaching staff who, through the quality of his or her work, has contributed to the evolution of teaching. This tribute is presented publicly to representatives of all colleges at the annual AQPC banquet.

A physical education teacher, Angèle Michaud launched the innovative Philo-éduc plein air project, which encourages links between physical exercise, mental well-being and philosophical questioning.Founder of a cross-country club, she supports several sports teams and organizes La Trail du parc des Îles. Her Cap sur l'activité physique, la santé, la réussite! project demonstrates her commitment to all her students. Her teaching practices place students' personal development at the heart of learning. Inspiring and possessing great human qualities, she touches the whole college community with her contagious passion for the outdoors.

The Cégep de Valleyfield management joins the community in offering its most sincere congratulations to Angèle Michaud for her achievements and her involvement in the success of the next generation of teachers.

New Teacher Award

The college network is recognized in Quebec society for its relevance, dynamism and innovation. In order to develop and evolve, such a network must rely on an inspiring new generation of teachers.Although the award went to another candidate, Cégep de Valleyfield is nonetheless very proud to congratulate Jérémie Daoust as a finalist for this prestigious title.
