Attempted murder: the SQ deploys its command post to Pointe-des-Cascades
Investigators from the Sûreté du Québec's Major Crime Investigation Division are currently at the intersection of de Montigny and des Cascades streets in Pointe-des-Cascades on Thursday, June 13, gathering information on the attempted murder that occurred in the area on Monday, June 10.
On the first day of the week, around 10 a.m., police officers from the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Est MRC were called to a man found wounded on rue de Montigny in Pointe-des-Cascades. The 32-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains in critical condition. The investigation suggests that the victim suffered injuries related to the impact of a moving vehicle and a firearm.
"Any relevant information that could identify the suspect involved in this case or his whereabouts before or after the commission of the offence can be communicated to the officers on site. We have located the vehicle involved in this event, but no arrests have been made to date in the case," confirms Sûreté du Québec spokeswoman Valérie Beauchamp.
The command post is stationed on site until 1pm. Citizens who have information, but do not wish to attend, can communicate it confidentially to the Sûreté du Québec's Centrale de l'information criminelle at 1 800 659-4264.
