Armed assault: the command post in Pointe-des-Cascades this Thursday
Investigators from the Sûreté du Québec's Major Crime Investigation Division are asking for the public's help in connection with an incident that occurred earlier this week in Pointe-des-Cascades.
On Monday, June 10, at around 10 a.m., police officers from the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Est MRC were called to the scene of a man found injured on rue de Montigny in Pointe-des-Cascades. The 32-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains in critical condition. The investigation suggests that the victim's injuries were caused by the impact of a moving vehicle and a firearm.
A red Acura MDX has been located and may be linked to the incident. At this time, no arrests have been made. Investigators will set up a command post tomorrow morning in the area where the incident occurred.
Citizens wishing to meet with police concerning this event are invited to report to the Sûreté du Québec mobile command post. The post will be stationed at the intersection of rue de Montigny and rue des Cascades in Pointe-des-Cascades from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 13.
