Two Gymini athletes win medals in Gatineau
Samuel Dion and Lucas Drennan challenged the best athletes in the country at the Canadian Men's Artistic Gymnastics Championships held in Gatineau at the Slush Puppie Centre from June 5 to 9. Gymini's two young athletes stood out in their respective categories.
Samuel Dion had the honor of representing Team Québec in the Junior National category. His performance was crowned with success, as he and his team took the gold medal.
In the individual competition, Samuel excelled particularly on the second day, when he had no falls and completed all his elements on all six apparatus. This performance propelled him to 12th place among all 17-18 year-old national junior athletes in Canada. Samuel also distinguished himself on vault, finishing in 5th place.
Lucas Drennan, for his part, also had an intense and fruitful competition. He finished 12th among Canada's 15-16 year-old national junior athletes. Lucas delivered two exceptional days on floor, earning him 3rd place and a bronze medal. Despite challenges on the run, he maintained a high level of performance and finished 8th on vault.
