A memorable 20th edition of the Relay for Life of Vaudreuil-Soulanges
The 20th edition of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Relay for Life, held on Saturday June 8, raised $177,059, demonstrating once again the strength and solidarity of the community in the fight against cancer. This special edition brought together nearly 400 registrants in 43 teams, all united in support of the Canadian Cancer Society.
The event, held at Pincourt Olympic Park, was marked by moving moments and inspiring testimonials. Honorary co-presidents Nathalie Gravel and Alexandre Nobert shared powerful messages that touched the hearts of all present.
"It's quite an adventure organizing a relay, and it warms my heart to see you here. What we're doing tonight makes all the difference in the fight against cancer. We've got a great community here, and I'd like to congratulate you all,” said Nathalie Gravel. For Alexandre Nobert, “20 years is no mean feat. The post-pandemic period has been difficult for many fundraising events, but tonight we're celebrating in style, thanks to people like you and an exceptional organizing committee. Proud to be here, proud to have collected donations to save lives, and proud to take part in an evening full of emotion."
Exemplary community involvement
"Not only did we exceed last year's results by over $30,000, but we also created a memorable evening thanks to exceptional entertainment and enthusiastic participation. Thank you all for coming out in such large numbers to celebrate life and show your determination to fight cancer!A big thank you to Centre d'équipements et de sonorisation Denis Inc. for their mobile stage, which was essential to the evening's entertainment,” said Hugo Gendreau, corporate relations manager and co-head of communications for the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Relay for Life organizing committee.The organizing committee also acknowledges the commitment of local businesses, including Gold Partners:Desjardins Vaudreuil-Soulanges, Pierre Roy & Associé and Les Aliments Gendreau.
Nadine Bissonnette, logistics director for the Relais, added: “We sincerely thank all our partners, captains, participants and volunteers for their commitment and generosity.
