Between Lakeview and Main
Rehabilitation of Selkirk Street begins this Wednesday in Hudson
This Wednesday, June 12, work begins on the reconstruction of rue Selkirk, between Lakeview and Main streets in Hudson. The Town will invest $695,000 in the work to create an active corridor.
The improvements are expected to last six weeks, and will require the closure of Selkirk Street between Lakeview and Main, with limited access for residents living along this stretch.
Here's what you can expect at the site:
- Complete reconstruction of Selkirk Street from the foundation up.
- Replacement of the drainage pipe.
- Creation of a multi-purpose path on the east side of rue Selkirk, bordered by a green protective strip.
- Installation of a new sidewalk parallel to the Selkirk Street parking lot.
Note that the stakes installed along properties in the work zone are for reference only and do not mark a new street boundary.
Construction site signs will be installed by Wednesday, and access to public parking on Selkirk Street will be closed until the work is completed. Part of the parking lot will be used by the contractor, but most will remain open to the public.
Starting Wednesday, Selkirk Street between Main and Lakeview streets will be closed until the work is completed. For the time being, only Lakeview Street will provide access to residences in the area.
Starting Wednesday morning, Main Street will be closed at the Selkirk Street intersection. We recommend using Lakeview Street as a detour.Yacht Club Street will remain accessible, but only to users arriving from the west (i.e. eastbound) on Main Street. The intersection should be open again late Friday.
