Business to resume in July
Lack of staff: Le Zèbre Rouge suspends bike sales
Recently, Vaudreuil-Dorion-based non-profit organization Le Zèbre Rouge, which sells, repairs and rents out used bicycles, had to put one of its activities on hold until it was fully staffed. For some time now, the bicycle sales activity has been suspended.
As Benoit Bourassa, General Manager since 2013, explains, a series of events made this temporary decision necessary. The social economy enterprise has just five employees. “There was the resignation of an employee two weeks ago, and I myself have been absent for a few days for personal reasons”, explains the director.
“We're expecting a new employee in July, a student over the summer, and I myself should be back on the job shortly,” he adds. So things should be back to normal soon, and bike sales can resume.
Le Zèbre Rouge's regular employees are on social reintegration programs, and the company receives a federal government subsidy for this purpose.
Under normal circumstances, Le Zèbre Rouge offers bike repairs, sales and rentals.
It is located at 115, route De Lotbinière, Local No 100, in Vaudreuil-Dorion.
