In connection with drug trafficking and assault
Luis-David De-Rodriguez Roy to return to court in September
On Wednesday, June 5, Suroît resident Luis-David De-Rodriguez Roy's case returned to the Court of Québec before Judge Mylène Grégoire. De-Rodriguez Roy returned to the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield courthouse to face charges related to domestic assault and drug trafficking.
In June 2023, the Sûreté du Québec confirmed the arrest of 19 individuals suspected of involvement in a vast drug trafficking network. One of these individuals was the 31-year-old accused, who was arrested while on the territory of Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac. As a result of this police operation, the accused, who was already facing assault charges, had drug trafficking charges added to his judicial record.
The accused, represented by Me. Marc Labelle, has a history dating back to February 2016, when he was in trouble with the law for his involvement in another narcotics case.
"I will postpone all of your files until next Wednesday, September 11, in this courtroom. By then, your lawyer must have provided the Crown with proof of your therapy and a list of your medications. On this next date, your presence is required in order to decide on the next step in your files,” the Chief Magistrate told the accused.
The defense representative, a colleague of Me. Labelle, indicated that the requested documents would be e-mailed to Me.Marianne Laplante of the Crown, who is currently on vacation.
